Every Wednesday, Every Wardrobe Welcome.
Thanks so much for coming to play today. I do look forward to your company each week.
So this was the outfit I dreamed up for today. New shoes, new second-hand cardi, handmade dress and lisptick and stockings:
Then I realised I was biking the boys to school so the shoes took a back seat. (And my tights had laddered when I put them on but I wore them anyway - I'm a bit lazy like that!):
By the time I got home from the school and kindy bike I had caught myself in the chain of the bike and so I looked like this:
And when the washing machine repair man came to the door (it is now fixed, bless you washing machine repair man!) I looked like this. (the tights were still on and still laddered!) New second-hand top, petticoat for making my dress stick out - yes I answered the door wearing undergarments):
I know I have no shame! None!
Finally (after using a toothbrush and citrus spray to get rid of the grease) I biked back to kindy and school in this:
Skirt handmade and shoes from an op-shop - yes that would be stripes and polka dots.
Have you ever had this kind of wardrobe fail day?I was very interested in the jeans replies last week. I have 3 pairs I wear 2 and one pair I need to get rid of and that's all. And one of those pairs are the kind you wear for gardening or on the days you look like you have given up.
So what is Wardrobe Wednesday?
- It's a chance to take some time once a week to peel off the polar fleece trackies (I have a pair too!!) and put on something that gives you a chance to have a 'play' in your wardrobe, to make yourself feel worth dressing up for.
- It's a time to celebrate and hopefully to embrace your body however you find it - post baby, young or old your body is lovely and functional and precious and I want this place to be a place for you to see other women (ordinary, beautiful women) who don't live in designer homes on designer budgets with designer bodies.
How to play?
1. Link in your specific blog post not just your general blog
2. Link to a post about clothes - that's what we're here for
3. Please add a link back here so other people can come over and see people's clothing posts too - the old fashioned way or grab a button
4. Be encouraging and visit people - leave a comment now and again too everyone loves to get encouragement
Here's the button copy and paste away

That is hilarious! I would have been in jeans after the bike chain incident and there I would have stayed (mind you I still have your black jeans - they will return. Silly husband!). I love the fact that you never opted out of your overall vision for the day. And I'm glad your washing machine is fixed xx
Miriam I soooo have days like that. Although with blog posts it's mostly the photo shoots that go awry rather than the outfits!
Please don't forget enter my $50 Max voucher competition :)
Sorry but I too am laughing - and thinking - WHY didn't you op for jeans all day LOL but then you know me jeans black and boots are sure to be found on me! I aspire to dress like you but in reality never do.
I love the fact you answered door in petticoat - I'd do that but in pj's
Seriously? This is not a malfunction - this is wardrobe evolution!!! You and my daughter are kindred spirits :) I love all the manifestations (yes of course red stripes and blue polka dots!!) - but the first outfit - the floral shoes with the classic and grey and turquoise is perfection.
I have EXTREME shoe-envy right now. Those heels are delicious!
Tee hee, sounds a bit like my life at the moment, but instead of bike grease, it's spew or drool! Love that the outfit changed but still stayed true to the original look. Love the sticky-outy skirts, so flattering on you xx
thanks for making me smile. susan PS. Isn't citrus spray great.
me too!! Nice to have you on board this week :o)
yeah the doomed photo-shoots are much fun that's for sure!
ha ha - my sis has my presentable jeans at the moment so I had no choice but I had my pretty petticoat and it needed an outing!! :o)
oh thank you!! I was pretty pleased with outfit 2 and I don't think I would have come to it on my own so it was a happy thing!
thanks - sticky outy skirts make me feel like a princess
yes I have fully embraced the citrus spray love even though I laughed at my hubby when he suggested it!
Very impressed at your solutions to wardrobe malfunctions! My alternative tends to be back to the pj's! x
okay seriously i would have NEVER known those pieces were handmade if you hadn't said so. you are talented!! and ROCKING the full skirt, miriam! :)
Loved the sartorial evolution of your day! Yep, I've had those kinds of days, too :)
I'm still stuck on the handmade. You have got some skills, Miss Lady! Seriously! Love love love...
Oh, I have outfit fails on a regular basis! It's all part of learning and life!!! I ADORE the stripes and dots outfit and that last close-up of you is exquisite, Miriam. ~Sarah
Oh dear! Sorry about the dress getting caught. It is a good thing you were able to save it. Lovely dress and your new shoes are awesome!!! Love it. :) The skirt you made is wonderful as well. :) Linking up for this week. :)
I've definitely had days like that! Mine are usually kitchen/food-related incidents. I like the stripes and polka dots together!
You still must have been the most glam mum at the school gates. Winter is on its way here, and I have bought a new parka. My children had hysterics, as they say it is exactly the same as my previous parka. I am going to pluck up courage one week and link to Wardrobe Wednesday.
I really love that kind of puffy skirt! I wish I had the nerve to wear one myself!
