This week it is another birthday party present for a very sweet little lady.
I like the colour combo and the way her name turned out - I free motion stitched it on the machine. Flip assured me after the party she loved it and didn't want to let it go.
I do like green and pink together in these sort of projects.

Love the little 'yo yo' deco on the top.......can't beat a yummy cup cake and I'm sure it will be a much loved, hugged and cuddled cushion...

Nice work M. it looks very huggable to me. I like duck egg blue and red, it's kind of the colour theme in clauds room (if you ignore the hideous apricot walls lol!) x

Can I ask a really amateur question? This "free motion sewing" - is that a setting on your machine? Do you have a fancy one that can write words? (i remember having those in high school!)
i just took a leaf out of your book and made a cushion for a 1st bday tomorrow and I hand stitched a bunch of words on the back, took foreverrr

Good on you. Hand stitching does take an age! 'Free Motion' stitching means when you use your sewing machine to draw, write and sometimes quilt. On most machines you can do it by lowering the 'feed dogs'(those silver teeth things that feed the fabric through under the stitching foot) or on my machine I put on the darning foot and do it that way. If you want to you can put an embroidery hoop around the area to keep the fabric taut and make it easier on yourself. Hope that helps. I'm fairly amateur at it myself... it's one of those processes where practise helps a lot
