Week 20/ 52

It seems crazy to me that it's week 20 already!!

This little fellow with one of his favourite friends here.

They were going to a dress up party, he was happy with just the hat thank you mama!

This big boy had his party today.

Hello City Living

This week I am grateful that I can walk into town - in about 10 minutes at a leisurely pace,

pulling my 'bag lady' trolley.

And I can get prizes for party games, gifts for the birthday boy

catch up for a quick bite with The Atlas (even though my phone died - I just looked in his shared office window like some shameless hussy).

Print some things out at the library

and then finish off at the markets where I can buy all the veges, fruit, and meat that we need for the week

and discover a fantastic new shop where I bought some seriously lovely look muesli (and carob buttons, oops!).

and walk back home again.

All done in a couple of hours - no driving, no looking for a park, no hassles.

Today I'm grateful for city living and bag lady trolleys!

Make My Week - Shirt Dress

I bought these three shirts about 3 months ago in the hopes of making some kind of dress from them.

The op-shop was having a $1 sale on all clothing so after parting with a grand total of $3 I have a new dress. It was tricky to get it how I wanted it in my mind but honestly it's so soft and comfortable and I like the shape.

I think I'll wear this dress a lot and it works so well with my boots and I think I'll also wear it with frilly ankle socks and heels sometimes.

I made the top part first by pinning it on inside out after I had removed the sleeves and side seems. Then I put on the skirt and finally the sleeves.

MMM week two

Confession I forgot to take one photo this week so I'll sub it in with a photo of the dress from last year when I made it.

May 7
Another New Look 6805 - in a variety of fabrics. Worn with a little op-shop cardi I picked up. Shoes also opshopped. Necklace one I bought from an antique shop about 13 years ago.

May 8
A dress I made a while ago from some fabric scraps I was given. It's a bit clingy in the wrong places but it's super comfy and I love the colour. The necklace has 2 silver pendant/charms on it - one I got from my grandmother when I was about 8.

May 9
Today was teaming with rain so I wore my only (literally, including sweatpants!) trousers - a pair of ezibuy jeans. Top made up about 8 years ago. I love the print and it is super easy to wear. Beads from an second hand shop.

We also went out for a friend's brithday on Friday night so I wore this dress which I made last year. Coupled with some glassons tights and rubi shoes.

forgot to take a photo but I wore New Look 6000 in fabric I was given from someone else.

May 11
Not a great colour representation because I almost forgot to take a photo again! This is not an actual Me Make as much as a me-make-over - it started it's life as a plus size t-shirt style dress in an op-shop. Socks from glassons and shoes from trade-me.

May 12
This is my second (of 3) May make, as I promised! Made from 3 x $1 shirts I felt so comfy wearing this. Worn with my cathedral bus route necklace and the super comfortable Dr Martin boots The Atlas bought me before we left NZ. (More about this tomorrow)

This old faithful! Another variation of the New Look 6805 pattern. (I have made this pattern at least 6 times!). Worn with my 'travellers necklace' featuring a plane, boat and train all in plastic. Shoes from trade me.

In My Mind

This week I am focussed on a very special event we will celebrate this weekend. Yes, I am impressed with my wonderful design skills! Thank you for noticing. The birthday boy wrote all the details on the back for his friends.

Looking forward to having some fun making prizes and goodies with these that just arrived in the mail.
