Make My Week - Another Decoupage Chair

Remember last week when I told you I bought 2 chairs?

This is the second one.

Same chair totally different look. As one of my favourite posts says 'Same, Same but Different'

I love this - it's possibly one of my most favourite chair makeovers so far.

I used some of the scraps I got from Nin's scrap swap... so that makes it special. The fabric on the legs is some I've had for a very long time and been saving.... it's liberty.

Help A Mama Out

Since I have changed over from Wordpress some of my special followers who aren't bloggers have had a much harder time commenting.....

during a mini-rant to the lovely Simone she suggested I try intense debate.... in theory then it will remember you every time you come back, and if you add in your blog it should also display any posts you've recently written. Just like with wordpress first time you put in your email and then easy peasy from there on.

So Mum this one is for you.... (and lots of other people too) ..... now you can tell me how awesome I am so much more easily. Provided of course that this whole update worked - yeah otherwise we're both at square one.

I'm Signing Up

So I've been a bit slack with wardrobe posts (which I love doing) and I haven't made any new clothing lately so I am perfectly ready for the wonderful Me-Made-May challenge hosted by re-fashionista Zoe.

I am really excited about joining in on this.

So what have I promised?
To wear at least one handmade thing every day of May (I'm including accessories in case I need to but hope not to rely on that) and to make a new garment of clothing each week of May.

B.M.W.B - Just One More Chapter

I love books

 Books are the thing I buy with my 'pocket money' (and fabric). If I were to be banned from shopping they would be my 'Achilles Heel' for sure.

I don't often buy adult fiction and if I do it is second hand but children's books, craft books, encouraging books..... downfall

I love that the boys are now at an age (6 and 4) where they can really enjoy chapter books and picture books.

I remember so fondly the joy of being read to and I try very hard to always respond with a yes to a request for reading and to keep reading 'just one more chapter' multiple times because really, if you are going to over indulge and go back on what you said could it be for anything better than just one more chapter (5 or 6 times)??

I'm looking forward to lots of reading in the school holidays. Even in a day we do nothing special a great chunk spent on couches with quilts and books cannot be a bad thing.

This is part of being the mama I want to be and learning from the wonderful mama I had who read us countless stories.

Becoming the Mama I want to be is about taking time to enjoy the journey of parenting, to honour it's value and to hopefully inspire and encourage each other. 

Simple. Achievable. Intentional: becoming the mama I want to be

Bloggers Connecting - the first reflections

As the extrovert I am ready for a quiet week so I can only imagine how much some others will want some space and quiet in their lives this week too.

Things I loved about this weekend:

Creativity - the name badges were amazing - every one different - I love how put to the same task we each produce something unique, original and with our own stamp on it. I'll be pinning as many as I see in photos onto the pinterest board I created for ideas. Let's inspire the world!

I'm going to take some pics of mine later in the week - here's one of our award winners though:

Inclusiveness - if I could choose a 'theme' that I wanted most for this weekend (and my life!) it would be inclusiveness. I was so, so proud of the way each woman there chose to talk, connect, include, notice others. I have no doubt that comes from a place of beauty inside you.

Enthusiasm - some people do enthusiasm quietly (we all know that isn't me) but... every time, every challenge, every opportunity - wide open embrace. Even under extreme duress on the dance-o-mat!! I love that people came ready for all of it and by doing and trying and having a go you created an atmosphere of enthusiasm.

There are a million other things I loved.... namely talking to you, meeting you, seeing some bloggers again, putting a face/name to a blog, having some of you stay over, having some of you visit my place, learning some new stuff, getting a goodie bag and 3 wonderful swap partners..... yeah there is more too but mainly it's people and you are all so pretty - even more pretty than your photos had me believe you were.

I'm sure there are going to be some more posts to come... but this is my first off.... 'oh I loved it' reflections...
